They came over to give us a quote for tuck pointing and rebuilding a stone wall in the front of my house. It was about what I expected. However, when the guys who came to do the work came over I was blown away. Not only were they friendly and courteous, they were the hardest workers I have ever seen. They were really down to earth guys. The owners made sure everything was just perfect. They also cleaned up after they finished the job. I was so impressed that my mom got her house tuck pointed too and we also had additional stone work done in the backyard. Usually dealing with people in the construction trades is sometimes aggravating but this was actually pleasant. If I could give them more stars, I would. My three-flat brick condo building hired Active Masonry & Construction this summer. They did extensive grind-and-tuckpointing on three sides of our building. They also replaced a limestone front step. I’ve worked with a lot of contractors on building projects over the years. I was impressed by Active Masonry & Construction. I love that they are quick to pick up the phone to explain something. The team did excellent work and was pleasant to interact with. Also, when the limestone for the front step wasn’t a correct match, I was impressed by their immediate steps to fix it. Overall, Active Masonry & Construction did excellent work and was very easy to work with. I would absolutely work with them again.
The crew did an extremely nice job with a variety of different masonry issue we were facing … a window frame that needed to be rebuilt, cracks, efflorescence, and many more. They took care of the work with very high quality, were much cleaner than I’d expected, matched the brick and mortar nicely, and overall just did a standout job. I had no issues trusting them inside my home when I left for work. They also didn’t nickel and dime at all, doing a little extra work that was outside the initial quote. I’d highly recommend Active Masonry & Construction!
I needed some tuck pointing work. Started my research based on reviews, even though they are sometimes phony. I got excellent service from start to finish. The owner came out and gave me a fair and detailed estimate, he was polite and knowledgeable too. The work was completed on time and very well done. I even added additional work I was so pleased. The stone foundation of our 1860s house in oak park had some big gaps in the joints that were allow pests to infiltrate into our basement, and in general was not in great shape. Active Masonry & Construction came out and quickly gave us a very competitive quote for re-pointing the entire foundation, and replacing some crumbling stones. The team was very professional, and made quick work of grinding out all of the old joints, re-pointing them, and replacing the broken stones. Was a great experience working with Active Masonry & Construction & Team and we’re very happy with the results!
